PCA Global Launches the PCA Playlist: A Disruptive Digital Learning Experience

Tuesday 1 October 2024: PCA, a leader in learning and development solutions, is today launching the PCA Playlist, a groundbreaking digital training experience.

The offering introduces a fresh, dynamic approach to professional development by mixing the immersive appeal of Netflix-style drama with the intellectual rigour of TEDx talks, supporting the holistic development of human skills in teams. This comes as data from Youd Andrews reveals a growing trend among CXOs to prioritise investment in learning and development, with 58% focusing on these areas as UK economic challenges ease.

As part of the PCA Playlist suite, employees have access to Season 1; the first nine ‘docudrama’ video episodes, which present real-world challenges that business development or sales teams might face. The episodes offer a 10-15-minute burst of skills development, with compelling storylines that guide learners through key concepts and deliver tangible learning outcomes. Future episodes are due for release in Spring 2025, when Season 2 is launched, which focuses on performance management.

Also included are adaptive digital branching simulations, which ask learners to navigate through a range of scenarios, making decisions that influence the outcome. These self-driven, highly personalised programmes allow for accessible and inclusive training that supports all learners. This offers employees the chance to practise and improve their skills as part of the flow of work and build confidence in a realistic but safe environment.

This immersive approach aligns with CXOs’ current view of learning and development. The same Youd Andrews survey finds that a majority (55%) are eager to apply new digital innovations to offer more experiential learning to their teams. Meanwhile, CXOs were also keen to use AI (53%) to customise learning paths and microlearning (43%), where bite-sized lessons are delivered to learners in the workplace.

Gill Hayward, Managing Director at PCA, said: “The PCA Playlist is designed to address the ‘Digital Dilemma’ faced by learning and development professionals today. While there is an abundance of content available, it often fails to capture learner interest. Our innovative approach is designed to transform digital learning by delivering an engaging, high-quality, hands-on experience that captivates learners. This approach drives meaningful results, from boosting sales performance and enhancing negotiation outcomes to reducing client turnover, ultimately contributing to broader business success.”

Among the additional product features supporting implementation is a set of workshop guides. These resources empower in-house trainers, regardless of their experience level, to run workshops or embed learning with their teams using the video episodes. In the long term, this contributes to a sustainable learning culture by enabling teams to share knowledge and expertise without the need for external facilitators.

Furthermore, PCA ensures a seamless launch and ongoing success with deployment support, product training and a suite of resources designed to help businesses capitalise on their investment and identify iterative improvements.

The PCA Playlist can be applied to a range of business challenges, including sales and business development, performance management, and leadership and development. Launch partners HKA, the leading global consultancy in risk mitigation and international legal practice Osborne Clark will be the first to benefit from the service.

Laura Vennell, Senior People Development Manager at Osborne Clarke commented: “PCA has produced three videos for our team, closely aligned with our mission of investing in and supporting our people. These videos focus on unlocking potential by delivering in-the-moment support through high-quality, personalised content, when it’s needed most. The scripts ensure that the material is not only creative but also immediately relevant to the challenges our teams face. It’s essential for us to deliver content at scale while maintaining this level of immediacy, and PCA has been instrumental in helping us achieve that goal.”

The digital learning experience offers great flexibility. It can run as an off-the-shelf solution or as a more bespoke package with greater expert support for delivery teams.
